Our nonfiction selection for Guatemala is The Art of Political Murder by Francisco Goldman. Named Book of the Year by The Washington Post, The San Francisco Chronicle, and the Chicago Tribune, Goldman masterfully narrates the investigation behind the murder of Bishop Juan Geradi while beautifully introducing the reader to an epic fight for justice. The fiction selection, The Tattooed Soldier, by National Book Award winner Hector Tobar, explores the repercussions of violence on a community in Guatemala and on one in the United States. We also included some very special handmade in Guatemala items. The scented trivet is our favorite. We also have a coin purse, a bookmark, a worry doll, coffee, and a Guatemalan print face mask so you can stay safe in style.
